“Insight alone rarely creates
transformation.
We change when the nervous
system feels safe, what’s been
held can finally move,
and we have the support
to walk a new path.”
~ Marcie Macari
My name is Marcie.
I am a survivor, a seeker, and a woman who has rebuilt herself more than once.
I've lived through childhood abuse, family addiction, parental abduction and alienation, religious extremism, poverty, abandonment, toxic relationships, and a decade-long health crisis that brought my life to a standstill.
I've crossed continents as a missionary, questioned everything I once believed, come out as a gay woman in a world that told me not to, and learned how to begin again when there seemed to be nothing left to build from.
Through it all, one truth kept revealing itself:
The things that help us survive are not the same things that help us LIVE.
Our protective patterns don't vanish when the danger is over.
They linger.
They shape our choices, our relationships, our self-worth, and our capacity to receive the very things we say we want.
Until we learn to meet them with awareness, compassion, and courage, they remain quietly in control.
I Didn’t Learn this as Theory.
I Lived It.
Why I Created The NEST
There was a time when I felt like healing required a map of referrals.
One professional helped with trauma. Another addressed physical symptoms. Someone else focused on mindset, relationships, or behavior change. While each offered something valuable, I often found myself retelling the same painful stories over and over again.
Sometimes I followed through with the referral. Sometimes I didn't.
Not because I didn't want support, but because I couldn't face starting from the beginning yet again.
I know how daunting it can be to sit across from a new professional and wonder whether they'll understand, believe, or fully appreciate the impact of what you've lived through. Over time, I realized that many people aren't looking for more experts. They're looking for a place where the different pieces of healing can finally come together.
That's why I created The Nest. A place to land.
A place to be seen as a whole person rather than a collection of symptoms, diagnoses, challenges, or goals.
A place where nervous system regulation, personal growth, embodiment, accountability, and meaningful change can exist under one roof.
Within The Nest, I use the ARE Methodology — Attune. Release. Embody.
Because lasting transformation begins with awareness, deepens through release, and becomes real when we embody a new way of being.
What Changes
You recognize the patterns that once helped you survive—and begin choosing responses that support the life you want to live.
You develop the capacity to follow through on what matters most, even when it feels uncomfortable or unfamiliar.
Not through force.
Not through willpower.
But through attunement, release, and embodiment.
Over time, what once felt like effort becomes second nature.
The change isn't temporary.
It becomes who you are.
Training, Experience, and Lived Wisdom
My work is informed by both professional training and personal experience.
I am a:
• Survivor, many times over
• Published author and speaker
• Orthomolecular Health Practitioner
• Polyvagal Therapist
• Certified Life Coach
• Energy Healer and Somatic Practitioner
For more than 15 years, I have supported people through healing, growth, and transformation.
But beyond the certifications and credentials, I am someone who has walked this path myself.
I know what it's like to feel stuck.
To start over.
To rebuild.
To search for answers.
To wonder if lasting change is really possible.
This isn't just the work I do.
It's the life I've lived.
And now, it is my privilege to walk alongside others as they create lives that feel more aligned, embodied, and true to who they ARE.
Who am I, Outside the Work?
I am a proud Indigenous, cis lesbian woman located just outside of Toronto, Ontario in Canada. When I’m not teaching, coaching or session-ing, you can find me at my laptop writing, at the beach lake-glass hunting, or cuddling with my partner Roo, and our Cornish Rex named Cosmo.
